Any band that has the balls to tour and play the entire Tales From Topographic Oceans gets my vote.

I saw this show at University Arena in Albuquerque, NM, 12 March 1974, my first Yes concert. This takes me right back!

Steve Howe is the Greatest.....What he does can go so unnoticed as far as the tireless and technical prowess it takes to keep his integral part coming....He makes it seem so easy, but its amazing in creativity and musicality~ he wrote the book on Prog Rock Guitar....All Hail Steve Howe

@nedmarc was @ this show - at the end of the ancient they throw the music into the air and it slowly falls back to the stage in pieces becoming ritual

Multiple sources were used to produce this show. They all originated from a single source, namely, an audience recording made the night of the performance. The majority of the show is a known second generation tape of the concert, with additional components merged into the base recording from a 3rd generation tape. A patch was needed in the song The Remembering due to a “tape flip” in the master tape during that song. This patch came from a performance in Boston two nights earlier on....ect...

A small excerpt from the Boston 26th February 1974 concert was spliced in to fill the gap in the Detroit tape on "The Remembering" THIS IS AN AUDIENCE TAPE FROM SEVERAL DIFFERENT SOURCES but I LOVE IT. all these audience tapes you hardly hear the audience around the taper, where could they be positioned???

This album is such an achievement. There's nothing to compare to it. In some ways, it reminds me of classical or jazz, but only in some ways. There are parts of The Ancient (the heavy percussive parts) that I've never really gotten into, but overall the album has always transported me since I first got a copy of it in the early 80's.
