"Three Cheers for Hudson High School!" If you have ever wondered where the tune for the HHS fight song comes from, here you go. The melody was borrowed from the trio section of Frederick E. Begelow's best known march, "Our Director." Bigelow was born just down the street in Ashland, MA in 1873. After his early schooling, he attended Worcester Academy, and studied music with Joseph Morrisette. The march was written circa 1895, while the composer was playing in a brass band that had been organized by Morrisette; it is therefore reasonable to assume that it was written for him. Over the years, this march has gained international popularity primarily for it's famous Trio, which has since been adopted by many colleges and schools as a fight song or alma mater.
Wow, School high school band (?), a dozen cheers to Hudson High for its amazing performance. (It's better than r band in high school in 60s, may be because of our antiquated instrument.) Thx for unloading.
