OMG! What an idiot she is. I feel kinda sorry for the Def. he acted like he just wanted to run and hide. He's family is so jacked up he doesn't want to have anything to do with them.

@RectPropagation Furthermore, she had no business being with this guy. She started dating him while he was in jail for killing a significant other. That's way, WAY different than dating someone only to discover they're abusive or a con artist later. She knew up front what he was. I have sympathy for people who are afraid to leave after their SO has cut them off from help and groomed them to accept the abuse. I have no sympathy for someone who sought out an abuser while they were in jail.

Normally I'd just be irritated that all of the scorn is being directed towards the person who was tricked instead of the person doing the manipulating but this lady had no business suing this defendant. He lets them into his home and she repays him by trying to make him financially responsible for what her boyfriend did.
That makes her a jerk, full stop. Don't want to sue the ex? Fine. But you don't get to make it someone else's problem.
