Every time I see Stephen Cohen he strikes me as an apologist for Putin. Russia was looted by its own: Firstly Yeltsin's oligarchs and now Putin's FSB cronies. During the big sell-off in the nineties foreigners were excluded, all of the oligarchs were Russian. Funny also how Cohen calls Georgia "Russian soil." And Saakashvilli's attack on South Ossetia was the result of countless provocations from South Ossetia's Kremlin-backed militia thugs. Putin wanted that skirmish and he got it.
