No they just turn on and off when the sub hits they plug into your 12v socket in your car. I went out and bought the adaptor that allows me to plug in three lights which cost like 8 more dollars but was worth it

i got theses neons from pepboys for like 22 bucks. i have three now in my car two 10 inches under the front seats and and a 20 inch under the backseat.

@Lutz023 You could just but the lights and cut the wires, connect the wires together then cover them with electrical tape.
