Freedom Singers (When the Roll is Called Up Yonder) 06-08-11

The Freedom Singers sang this at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Springfield, Oregon, on June 8, 2011. From left to right are Simon Ivescu, Randy Lewis, and Steven Ivescu (Simon and Steven are brothers). Randy (from Michigan) was filling in for Wesley Pop, who had gone to Romania for his sister's wedding. Simon, Steven, and Wesley all escaped Communist Romania when they were young; hence, the delightful eastern European accents! Their escapes were not without the risk of death, however--and they came SO very close to death and/or imprisonment/severe physical punishment on more than one occasion. In fact, Simon did experience capture and physical torture at one point. He and Wesley have written a book detailing their escape called "The Price of Freedom". What a testimony to God's deliverance, and to the miracle after miracle He performed! I highly recommend one of their concerts to anyone and everyone. You will come away blessed.
