@JonThm No, they don't. Plants will close their stomata (thus halting gas exchange and the absorption of CO2) when they've taken in what they need in order to prevent water loss. It's only in greenhouses under controlled conditions where CO2 is the only limiting factor that plants will essentially continue to metabolise it non-stop.
