  • XBOX 1= SD tv

    XBOX 360 = HD tv (1080P)

    XBOX 720=???

Let's not forget not all depends on the console's hardware but also on the screen on which games are displayed. So far I don't see in the near future any tv beyond 1080p nor amoled tvs, or hdmi 2.0. so I expect Bill gates will release the xbox 720 by the time new tv technology is avaliable for consumers.

  • @transitaporbogota Well HD doesn't have any bearing really on graphical quality in terms of textures and what's possible. PC's have had "HD" gaming for years - I remember playing Half Life in 720P and higher - but boy, does it look bad compared to modern games. Indeed, some Xbox 1 games did actually support HD 720P if connected via component.

They'll likely be striving for better use of graphical technology such as Physics and the extra grunt will help in rendering more realistic scenes.
