BUDDHIST ANTIDOTES

Also,Iam merely a student practitioner who wishes to share studied information,hopeing it will,"Help other sentient beings."It must also be mentioned now,that One cannot have dones a "Black Action if one has not yet made a Bodhisattva Vow!" Rather,I study these,and try to implement in my mind,these teachings because they are the good examples(The White Actions) of the highest Buddhist teachers,The Bodhisattvas. I go for refuge to the Buddha,The Dharma,& the Sangha,until I reach enlightment. By the goodness I do in giving and the rest,May I attain enlightment for all other sentient beings."

THE FOUR BLACK ACTIONS.

1."The first black action is to tell lies to the person who has conferred the Bodhisattvah vows on us,to our preceptors,spiritual teachers and to those who are worthy of offerings." (reason,"Because our spiritual teachers open our eyes of wisdom.")

2. " The Second Black Action entails causingsomeone who has undertaken a positive action after careful deliberation to regret something which should not be regretted."(Example.A person wants to take the vow to become a nun or monk.Rather than telling them they should not,or that they might not be appreciated,We could say more positively that"You do not need to be ordained to practice Buddhism."

3. "The third Black Action is to disparage a Bodhisattvah out of anger." (Example.;"the issue is not whether or not a negative action was performed but that the accusation is made out of anger with the intention to demean the Bodhisattvah.)

4."The fourth Black Action involves dishonesty with a bad motive. This refers to all forms of hypcritical and deceitful behaviors for ignoble reasons."

THE FOUR WHITE ACTIONS.'ANTIDOTES TO BLACK ACTIONS.

1. "The first of these is noever to lie to any living being with the intention to deceive,not as a joke nor even at the cost of our life. This counteracts the first black action of lying to our spiritual teacher and others."

2. "The Second White Action "Is to maintain a sincere and honest attitude free from decit and pretense toward s all living beings." ("Deceit refers to hiding faults and weaknesse,whilepretense refers particularly to giving the impression that we have qualities we do not possess."

3. The Third White action "Is to regard Bodhisattvas as our teachers and to praise them,which counteracts the third Black action of disparaging them out of anger."

4. The Fourth White Action"Is to encourage those in our care not to follow the Lesser Vehicle but to seek complete enlightment for the sake of all living beings." "This counteracts the second black action of causing others to regret their good deeds."

I am merely a student,but I hope the above teachings will be helpful and useful to others learning Buddhism.
