The Class 37 sound project has now been enhanced with user-control of engine priming, cranking and starting. In addition to using F1 in the normal way, you can now also cut short and / or repeat the engine priming sequence, repeat and / or prolong the engine cranking, and / or cause the engine to fail to start (in any combination and any number of times). This is all achieved in a very simple manner using only F1.

As with the prototype the Class 37/4 sound project is based on the 37/0 with the addition of the 'starter motor' sounds and the correct 37/4 compressor.

  • No. If you double-headed two locos with the same address they're going to crank & start etc at the same time. To achieve two separate starts you'd have to have the locos on different addresses and then consist them.

  • I would love to offer a fitting service to everyone who asks but unfortunately there aren't enough hours in the day and my own modelling has to take precedence, sorry. I'll PM you regarding how to get a chip with my sounds on.

  • Thank you. I'm afraid it's got to be a v4 chip, the v3.5 was much more limited in what you could do.

  • It's not bad but it's still early days in the learning curve. Expect to see some really great features over the next few weeks and months.

  • Yes, the 37/4 still has the playable horns, variable speed flange squeal and all the other v4 goodies that you can see in the 37/0 videos.

  • It's a bass reflex made by Alan Butcher components, available from Digitrains. It's approximately 23mm x 57mm, fitted in the tanks facing down. If you buy one from Digitrains, tell them I sent you

  • biff does this have twin start up as for double heading thanks graham

  • Hi. I'm very impressed with lengths you go to in order to obtain loco recordings. I see on another video that you would send out the sound files. Is there a charge involved? Also, as it's you creating the sound files, would you consider offering a fitting service (for the less experienced of us) if a loco was sent to you, for example?

  • Hi Bif. Brilliant bit of work there. Can all the above be done on a 3.5 chip or just the V4? Thanks Stephen.

  • Brilliant stuff Biff!

  • Hi Bif, I'm trying to buy more one Class 37/4 for me from Vitrains. If I can, I should order a chip. I liked these features. This project also has the playable horns? Regards.
