But the point is moot, as you can easily dual-boot on Macs now. So you get the PC platform bundled into a Mac purchase and have both options. Thus, Mac's kinda better in that sense, if you're purchasing new.

That said, I edited just fine with Adobe Premiere for years before I got a Mac.

the only unfortunate thing that still makes me a little upset with macs is the fact that you are stuck with technology that is always a few generations behind what is available in pc platforms. for example all of the available graphics cards are pretty old school in the mac world.

Macs handle graphics processing differently than PC's. They don't require the ridiculous NVidia DeathTurboGraphix X-Treme 3000 cards that PCs use.

My main issue with my Macbook Pro these days is how hot it gets. For some reason Flash makes the processor superhot.

macs still use openGL the one true professionally accepted standard for editing and cgi work. and the reason they don't need the crazy whack nut cards is the lack of games or other live rendering software available for them. macs have available the quadra 4500 professional card for film editing and for cgi work. they need it since there cheaper cards trully leave something to be desired in high poly modeling performance and at live preview without pre-render for hd, 2K and 4K editing.

dude, its all good! I like using mac sometimes myself. but I am stubbornly against the thought that there is only one way to make movies:) I have been in the game to long to be able to believe that. peace out man. and go make a kick ass movie, then post it so I can see it (or at least a teaser)!

sorry, i should have kept my mouth shut. i am just excited about mac. i just wish i had all those years on the pc back. but you're right, different strokes for different folks. unless asked, in future, i'll just keep my mouth shut. sorry for trash talking, really makes one look ignorant. you can delete these if you chose, sort of a waste to have them up.

Kissing Steve's ass? Do you really think Steve Jobs will read your comments area? I think not. I too have used both, and I like Mac more, period. Think for myself? You sir, need to quit smoking weed and learn to red. I said I used PC for many, many years prior to the Mac. How did I not decide for myself? Are you claiming that I know Steve and he put me up to this? In my opinion, Mac is better for film making. My opinion.

dude, just because you like it does not mean its better than anything pc based! not a good argument! avid works, sony vegas works, not everyone likes fcp and not everyone has to. I am glad it has worked for you, as I said I have used both, and won awards with both, and made broadcast television on both. stop kissing steve jobs ass, and think for yourself and accept that not everyone will have the same view! I never said one was better, I said lets stop bickering like the child you are being!

dude, after using a pc since the early 90s, i recently switched to Mac, and I will NEVER go back. Final Cut Pro kicks the crap out of anything PC. Making movies on a Mac is easier and comes out better.
