  • So he's advocating state power for his ideals, but when the state power turns against his ideals, he doesn't like it now. I don't think he understands what state power is. It was Madison that said "Enlightened statesmen will not always be at the helm." Take the power away from the state to direct the actions of the people, that's how I see it. I definitely see the Socialist side when he talks, but not much Libertarian there.

  • @MetaCraken I think he means that we have one party - the business party.

  • @MetaCraken the two party system is really a fallacy. it facilitates a system in which we believe we have a choice. any time actual change can be presented by whatever means that effectively reduces the ruling elite class, propaganda is used to make their campaign fail.

look closely at the efforts to trash Ron Paul. he's accused of being an anti-Semite, an anarchist, and is outcasted by the Republican party.

By contrasting Red VS. Blue in the media, our election choices are falsely amplified.

  • @MetaCraken sorry nobody answered your question. i think he's referring to the fact that regardless of what political party holds office in the Senate, Congress or the presidency, those governing bodies still maintain an allegiance to the true people in power: big business. since there is a major reliance on big businesses and endorsements of companies who monopolize and "enrich" the process of commerce within the country, the first appeasement is to this group before the public.

It's easy to see the sheer accuracy of his words. Distraction is key. Unfortunately, as a society we've been conditioned to reduce our attention spans so that even when we feel passionately about something, we will–oh look a cat on a turntable!

  • This “democracy” is nothing other than the morality of Genghis Khan, matched to the operational methodology of Hulegu, Muqali and Subutai.

This form of despotism, is a homicidally insane Syndicate.

  • You can hear the passion in his voice here. I think that this is the core of what drives him: democracy vs. "democracy". He is speaking of his most hated enemy here, namely, "democracy". Most of our problems would evaporate if we had the levers of power in our hands...

  • "there's no political parties..." what does he mean?

  • This is one of my favorite video series of Noam Chomsky on youtube. Thank You <3

  • @taz0k2 "For example the elite's def of democracy that Noam refers to, how would I find out if it's true?" - Read into the works he cited... Read 'Propaganda' by Edward Bernays for example, that's a very straightforward and colorful guide on how to brainwash the masses into supporting government policies and loving big business.... and this is still used as the basis for election campaigns and corporate advertisement; you can find it easily online
