RESOURCES FOR THIS VIDEO:
========================
**ALMONDS: I buy mine direct from this grower in CA. Not only are they the very best and truly raw almonds (not heat treated or chemically treated), but he offers a great price, ships super fast and is a really nice guy! Contact Bill Grissom at bgrissom73@gmail.com or by cell at (209) 617-1516.

**NUT MILK BAG: If you want to spend up to $10 on a "nut milk bag" online from a raw food website, then go right ahead. Or spend $2.50 my way. Buy a bag of two 1-gallon paint strainers. Easy to find at any hardware store. Use one, keep one for a spare. They last a long time.

**BLENDER: I'm a Vitamix girl, so that's what I'll recommend. I've used a Vitamix for 25 years and wouldn't do without it. www.vitamix.com. (Note this is not an affiliate link. I make no money to recommend them. Darn.) Or look on ebay or craigslist for a used one. I have no idea if any other blender will do the job well.

**DEHYDRATOR: Excalibur is the way to go. Mine has a timer built in, but you can get one without a timer (cheaper) and attach one of those portable timer dealies that you use to automatically turn your lamps on and off when you're away from the house. www.excaliburdehydrator.com (Note this is not an affiliate link. I make no money to recommend them. Darn.) Or look on ebay or craigslist for a used one. People think they're going to make loads of beef jerky and then they don't. Your gain.

ALMOND MILK RECIPE - Makes 3 cups. Keeps for 5 days.
==================
In the video I soaked 2 heaping cups of almonds so that I'd be able to make three batches of milk. If you'd like to make just one batch, soak 3/4cup of raw almonds. 3/4c raw = approx 1 c soaked.

1 cup of soaked almonds
3 cups of filtered water
3 medjool dates (pitted) - or other dates if you have them. Or honey to the level of sweetness that you like.

EQUIPMENT:
High speed blender
Nut milk bag (paint strainer)

Blend the almonds and water on high in the blender until you can't hear the almonds rattling around. Usually 30 seconds. Strain through the nut milk bag into a bowl, gently squeezing out all milk. Rinse the blender out clean. Return the almond milk to the blender and add the dates. Blend on med-high for 30 seconds until the dates are blended in. Store in a glass jar with an expiration date of 5 days from the day it's made. Refrigerate.

Background Music: Dixie Maxwell's original compositions of "When It's Love" and "Soul Collector." I was given permission from her to use them. Check out her youtube channel as user name yepitsdixie!
