Perfume obsession doesn't have to be more expensive than other hobbies. There are plenty of great, inexpensive perfumes (Tommy Girl, Tocade, Cool Water, Azzarro pour Homme, to name a few), especially on eBay. I can spend $15 dollars and have a daily spray for a year, while a lot of people spend the same amount on a single meal out!

I love my father's Guerlain Vetiver. Can someone tell me how to pronounce 'Guerlain'?

"guer" rhymes with "bear"
"lain" rhymes with "fan", with the "a" tending somewhat towards an soft "e" sound.
Vetiver's great, even better pour Elle.

Quand on travaille dans la mode, ou l'art en général, on devrait éviter le genre de phase péremptoire telle que "un parfum doit être joli et discret".
Il y a une grande place dans l'art pour ce qui n'est pas joli.
Quand à mettre à égalité le luxe et la discrétion : mouais mouais... Sans parler que Guerlain, chez les femmes coincés, était sensé être une marque portées par les filles galantes (= les putes), c'est dire si c'était discret ! lol

I love Guerlain... I´ve just ordered Mitsouko EDT, I´ll try that first although people say EDP is better, I´ll order that sometime and also L´Heure Bleue... so excited!! What a beautiful legacy this family leaves to the world!!
