Extreme pearling on plants in this 80 liter tank. That is equipped with two 18w T8 tubes from Sylvania and their Aquastar that has a PUR efficiency at 0.88 microEinsteins/Joule. Plus two reflectors from Juwel. You can see in the video the outlet from the external filter there i have hoked up an external "UP New Aquarium Atomizer" (diffuser) that is fed with CO2 from two DIY soda can reactors. The water is crystal clear but with all the produced O2 that is like a mist of micro bubbles the water looks milky! And the plants is feed with PMDD.
But it was not until that i hoked up the CO2 i got this extreme oxygen pearling on the plants! You can see that the plants has grown from day to day...
In the background it is UB40 that is on the stereo. And you can hear my African Gray parrot say "Duktig" at 00:13 and "Kom då" (in Swedish) from 01:09 in an attempt to seek contact.

  • Cool man. I just bought one last night. Any problems so far?

  • If you get pearling after your start of CO2 when it is new. After 1-2 months the pearling effect will get less and less. I believe that it gets dirty and the co2 do not reach the water AND if your co2 bottle and joints is leakage prof then there will build up a great pressure when the co2 cant escape to the water. Have an eye on the pearling so you know that the plants gets co2.

  • FINALLY - Some decent music on one of these videos!!!!!

  • it is when maximum photosynthesis is going on. so it might not just be a lack of co2 making them slow down but other things like nutrient availability and temperature. a lot of mineral elements might be used up. also it possible that lighting might be less intense over time due to light tube or even clarity of water. co2 is only one part of the equation.

  • lol the scalar fish at 26 sec: Oshit im sorry didnt see the camera...

    Anyways nice job man!
