this is the pilot, so things were a bit different. usually that's the case with pilots because they are more along the lines of test episodes to see how well the show will do. everything changed after this episode.

Shoot, they had a different Kitchen set on Moesha. There was unseen pilot of Married of Children where Bud and Kelly were played by different actors.

Sitcom Pilots are usually testing grounds.

It was not unusual for a show back then to make a lot of changes from the pilot and the first episode. Roseanne had a different DJ in their pilot. On the first 90210, the Walsh's lived in a totally different house for the pilot. @whatsmylineski

I can't believe how much this season differs from the others. The set is so different and they only mention 4 kids, instead of 5. Where's Saundra? huh. Not sure I ever watched the first season growing up.
