Morning Musume at Japan Expo

Young and 30-year-old people love it:
the Japan Expo, the biggest festival dedicated to Japanese culture in Europe, begun today in the suburbs of Paris for 4 days.

We find everything: anime, calligraphy and music.
Hugely famous groups in Japan are spreading in France.

"Bonjour !", "Ca va ?".

They are the Morning Musume, translate: "The Morning's young girls".
Six japanese and two chinese girls, singers who are extremely popular in the land of the Rising Sun. This morning, they discovered for the first time Paris and the Champs Elysées.

"Bonjour, Morning Musume~!"

In Japan, the songs of Morning Musume sell millions of copies, and their concerts are sold out.But they have a fervent public in France too, these fans wait here since 4 am, for signing sessions in a shop of the Champs Elysées.

It's fresh (note: this word is translated literally), it's full of happiness, it makes me happy when I am sad, and that's what is great. We have nothing similar in France.

Inside the shop, everyone is excited. There are fans from 10 to 40 years old, very happy to see for the first time singers that they could see only through videos, on the internet.

"... really, really, you're the best !"
"Merci, merci."

It's great. They are very pretty, they are very pretty. That's it, excuse me."

I had, one and a half year ago, the gothic singer of Japan, Kanon Wakeshima.
And we had approx. 1,000 people. The sellings were very good and there was people who slept outside during the whole night to be the first for the signing sessions.

For a few years, the Fnac* has its own Jpop and Jrock store, their first customers: anime and animations fans.

"It works very well by word of mouth, there's a lot of fans gathered in forums, on the internet. And because of that, events are organized."

This week-end, twenty japanese singers and groups will go on stage at Japan Expo, in Villepinte, in the suburbs of Paris. This event, dedicated to Japanese culture, gathered, last year, more than 160,000 people.


* Fnac stands for "Fédération nationale d'achats", or "National Purchasing Federation".

Seems like the staff are more open to the girls being filmed and photographed at Japan Expo (even outdoors) this time. Was that the case?

Now I'm really disappointed at the AX staff (esp. the "Dragonlady")... >_<

@KuroDEUS I think that it was the same as for AX, but I don't really know 'cause I wasn't there for the 2 events. I read the comments and descriptions of other videos about JE that the french staff told the filmers almost all the time to stop filming, but they didn't succeed, and they couldn't succeed. And what would they (the staff) earn by doing this ? It's totally useless.

@Sedaura I see... I was at AX09 (but missed the autograph sessions due to misinformation) and the staff lined up the people outside of the actual signing rooms. Very limited amount of people were let in at a time, and they threatened that Momusu (or UFA) may not return if we violate their "no photograph" policy.

It looks like a whole lot more people were queued up in the same room waiting for autograph at JE (judging from many autograph vids), so maybe enforcing the policy is harder?

@KuroDEUS eh, what kind of staff do you have at AX ? They are just like... evil. But it was just a threat, 'cause they are not allowed to tell Tsunku not to come back in USA because of people take pictures.

The queue is for another reason, the fact is: there was a lottery for the signing sessions, only 100 people had autographs each day of signing sessions (lasting 1h30), and the other people were put in front of the signing sessions' place to get at least the chance to see Momusu.

@gaafee thanks ! :D "to translate" in french is "traduire", the verb "translater" exists too, but it's used in mathematics, meaning "moving a point or a shape from one point to another" -> it's completely different.
