Pride and egoism.

In these days greed, wealth and materialism´s roots are being shaken violentily. What did Jesus say about serving God & mammon?

@davidperiOne of the economic tragedies or this mentality is that people can no longer be satisfied with a modest home that suits their needs. The homes that are being built today would have been considered mansions in the 1950s, but this is what people feel they need and deserve. Consequently, people will take a $400,000 dollar mortgage, which means, with interest paid, the will end up paying a million and a half dollars for the home, which they can never hope to pay off.

I have been thinking about the 12 million people in Africa. Our British government donated 15 million pounds. That just over a pound for each person. It would be lucky if that covered for food for all of them for one day.

The absolute minimum needed is 100 million pounds a week and that is less then 10 pounds a week for each person to feed them. There over 6 billion people on the planet. There is a least 2 billion living in wealth. If they all give a pound a week the problem is solved.

When you think about it there is more then one sin as a root behind materialism. your right about Pride because you hear about people being proud in what they achieve in life. Covetousness, Greed, lust, Jealousy ,strife, etc are other roots behind materialism
