He was in charge of astronaut selection for the first few years of the shuttle program, and wasn't always the most fair of bosses. If you crossed him, you never went into space again. Luckily, like everyone else, he came to his senses when Challenger was lost, and was instrumental in supporting the new safety regulations. Although he no longer officially works for NASA, he still attends morning briefings at KSC.
Yeh, John Young is a legend, but almost everyone on the space shuttle program hated his guts. Never mind, I still like him - he walked on the Moon for Pete's sake!
This video would have been much more enjoyable without the cheap, obnoxious music. Why does every documentary filmmaker feel the need to play the lamest music in the background?

Retirement from NASA

"Young still attends the Monday Morning Meeting in the Astronaut Office at Johnson Space Center" (Not KSC)

Yikes!! Hate his guts? What kind of person was he that almost everyone hated his guts? Must have been a tough guy to deal with on the job.
