Stephan Harding, ecologist and author of Animate Earth, presents Gaia Theory. He illustrates how our consumption culture is destroying the earth and provides viewers with an alternative way of living.
Stephan Harding is a faculty member at Schumacher College, Devon, UK. One of the courses he will be teaching on this autumn is titled 'Ecoliteracy: First Principles for Radical Change', which provides a foundation of knowledge and understanding of what an ecological world view is.

what i mean by this is if we concider that everything has a natural order and that everything is natural then why should the cycle of a race and planet be any differen't to the cycle of animal, and an animals life processes
imagining nature and the world in this way brings up an interesting thought in my mind if we treat the planet like a mother or father figure to us its children at some point we may be pushed out of the nest and forced to fly off and fend for ourselves this may not be the end of the world but the beginning of our life as a race but also int he same sense as a single organism
I've read a James Lovelock book- The Ages of Gaia and a I have to say that is one of the most amazing and revealing books I've ever read.
It is quite interesting how nature comes to our consciousness in these few decades by people like J.Lovelock, Terence McKenna, Osho or by you Dr.Harding
I'm going to read your book Animate Earth, and thanks for posting this.
Well, you could put me into the "younger generation"....so as you can see, some of us DO care about the Earth and it's falling apart.
I'm under the impression that people are bacteria on the planet with is an organism....(metaphorically speaking....though the Earth could be though of as "living" in a way).
so how can u see the rest of this speech ??:)

'Thorium' is the answer. With 7 billion people, we cannot go back to wind mills & solar so easily.

This video should be promoted for more people to see, especially the younger generations. Thank you Dr. Harding for this presentation.
