School: Coronado High School
Type of School: Public
Location: West side of El Paso
District: El Paso Independent School District (EPISD)
Level of School: Tough
Year built: 1962. Got renovated sometime in the 1990s. New buildings were added later on.
About School: This is a public High School. It is one of the toughest schools in El Paso, TX after Franklin. Thus, it is the second toughest. This is a weird looking school. As u can see, all the lockers are outside. All the classroom doors are outside as well. It looks as if almost all the classrooms are outside. The elevator here is outside, and needs a key to operate. U probably need a key to even open the door it is in. It is a Dover impulse. The original elevator was probably taken out and this one as added in the 1990s. A new building opened a few years back. The new building has a Schindler with HT fixtures. That one also needs a key to ride. This is another strange thing. There is a playground. It is strange how there is a playground in High School. I wonder if high schoolers like to play during recess :P The bathroom signs are also strange. They are like in elementary school. They say boys and girls. In my school, they say men and women. We are almost adults. Why do they have to put elementary signs.
I would recommend this school if u are smart enough to do all the work. This is a very hard school and it is very demanding. As for me, I would not even survive in this school. I would probably instantly fail. It is too big and too tough. 1 late assignment and its a 0 with no exceptions.
This video was taken on a Saturday.

  • in canutillo high school the bathroom signs say girls and boys so its not really strange but still ur videos rock

  • @puccalovesjoeboe1 Thanks. And Canutillo High is one of the schools I plan on going to. As of now, I did a 3 min video tour of Austin High and filmed the elevator there. I wanted to show more, but apparantly, I got busted by campus patrol guards there and told me that cuz its an old school with lots of history, there is no photography allowed. My next school already planed out is El Paso High. Is the elevator at Canutillo High locked? Do u need a key to ride it?

  • @elevatortimes i think its only for special ed kids in wheel chairs

  • @puccalovesjoeboe1 Thats how the elevator was at Silva. I have a video of it. Im not sure about the one at Austin though, a teacher and a janitor saw me ride it and they did not care. I know about the one at Silva because a friend who goes there told me. So ur saying that its not locked, but u have to have a note to ride it. Either way, Im not a student there, so I cant really get in trouble. Worse they can do is ask me to leave.

  • I go to public I am going to franklin I am going from one of the best middle schools to one of the worst high schools but still go cougars boo t birds

  • @cbcep I wouldn't recommend Franklin. Its the toughest school in El Paso. It is also the worst organized school in El Paso. If I had no choice, I would rather go to Coronado. It is much better and safer. Franklin has a lot of cholos. I dont even go to Coronado. I go to Radford, which i plan on doing a tour soon. Go knights!!!!!!!!!
