Ordinarly i don't want to comment on other religions but this way the teachings of Hinduism stand out. This is a Teacher faith - it is a harder & tougher faith. No begging or groveling before God asking for mercy, Everything must be Earned - Forgiveness, Moksha - all must be Earned! God is there to help but She will only encourage & instruct - the dirty work is left to us. A Heaven made for us is a false heaven - we want a heaven, we must work hard to remake this world.

  • I agree, its not about pleasing God. Its about building character and that manifest Gods love in itself. But what are you saying is the reasoning? As long as ppl can justify in their conscience they are doing right, they are good? or are they seeking confirmation of whats good by the majority of society? as long as you can justify and confirm good being good and bad being bad then there is no definitive right. Because right is only going to be what we decide it to be

  • @tommybrown187 I don't think this is as difficult as we make it out to be. We do live by certain rules, a certain code of conduct - i do believe in the physician's code of conduct should apply to all - Do no Harm. The point is about introspection - taking a good look at our conduct, our actions, dwelling on them - it will in the end make us all a better people, even if we don't do the right thing all the time.

The opposite is what u see in Terrorism - followers of the king religion contd

  • @tommybrown187 not questioning themselves - their king orders them to kill, so they kill. Hinduism totally differs - it is a Teacher faith - have u watched movies where the hero asks the kindly old teacher for guidance? Have u noticed that the Teacher never says u must do this? The Teacher always gives options - there will be good & bad for each action - it is the Hero that must choose to do the right thing - the responsibility rests on his shoulders. As Hindus we are asked to take cotd

  • @tommybrown187 responsibility for our actions - doing a bad thing is like getting an F - never ask the Teacher to raise it to an A - you must EARN that A. In the King religions u can just beg ur way out. These religions have been taken over by proselytizers - God has stopped being a moral guide, instead He has become an enabler - see our God will pardon u, is so merciful, he will wipe out all ur crimes & off to a nice hawaii u go! yippee for the criminal. Who speaks for the victim? No one.
