This is Sowmyan's posting to help people learn spoken Japanese. Sowmyan believes he brings a foreign language learner's perspective as an advantage over other videos posted by native Japanese. This video is about greetings and every day phrases.

  • I really enjoyed this video. I lived in the Japan for 3 years when I was in elementary and I never got to learn it fluently. Ive been using books and learning websites to help me learn. So far Ive gotten pretty good with the language but when I find videos like yours I like to start at the beginning :) Thank you for uploading !

I find that quite a few of the people who watch this channel already know Japanese and have the same objective of keeping in touch. Hope you like it. I would encourage all those who like this to add their own additional contributions through a video response. You can stick to the same topic as the main lesson and supplement it with your specific experience.

  • poor quality of sound and vision is disturbing

    fix it thanks

Thanks for this comment. I have done some checking and believe I may be able to improve this. For 2 years I had been struggling with the sound level issue. It requires some more experimentation before redoing these. I appreciate your feedback.

  • @helikos1 no its not actually,

English is not "phonetic". That means that we do not always say a word the same way that we spell it.

Some words can have the same spelling but different pronunciation, for example: I like to read [ri:d]. I have read [red] that book.
