I don't give a sh*t what the horses do in the wild. Racing is cruel and unnatural, for the horses to run that far and jump like that! And they absolutely should NOT be raced at 2 years old.

@mdjidara that would mean that it happens too to wild horses, but it doesn't!! IT's unbelieveable how many and which kind of excuses you people can find to save your personal pleasure and to justify your deeds. There is nothing to be justified... you just have to look in the mirror

@horseloverforever7 oh please, and your IQ and logic probably failed to evolve from the day you were 3???

I remember sitting on my couch and being so excited for her. A filly- runner up in the Kentucky Derby, it was a miracle. I was screaming and laughing and smiling. I turned the TV off before I could see her fall. The next day in the paper I saw that she was put to sleep. I sobbed and was sooo grateful that m pony was safe and sound. R.I.P. Eight Bells, you will never be forgotten.

I remember that day. Eight Belles was all heart! We all loved her.. The beauty the inspiration they give, there are no words to explain the way they make you feel.My heart goes out to you. (I use to own standardbreds) I am reading a few comments from those who are just jealous, not everyone can own and race horses. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers....

i enjoy watching horse racing, most notably the triple crown races. the problem is the horses are bread in such a way that their legs are WAY to skinny to support their bodies. Of course more and more injuries of this type will happen untill............it will never change. qrt horses dont have this problem to this extent. they r more sturdy, head to toe

awesome horse but horroable song..

@horseloverforever7 Horses are meant to be wild and not FORCED to run with a human on their back pushing them to their limits. If these racehorses weren't put through all the training prior to going to the track, the likelihood of injury is slim to none.
Horses travel across terrain quite well. Minor bumps in the dirt and hills are really no issue for a horse. So what if your aunt is a vet? Has she ever raised and bred horses? I highly doubt it.

Terrible :'( I would have been crying a river, look at the poor horses legs like frozen up :'(
If a horse dies in a field- whats to blame? No drugs... racing is no different- just a jockey on the back.My aunt, the vet says more horses die as young colts and babies in a field and they NEVER make it to the track- thanks to hills and bumps tht cause them to fall. People just need to think. So before you bash racing, think about what NATURAL horses do.. Think....

Hi, I just want to say please no negative comments please. Horse racing- yes its dangerous, but I have been witness to what horses are. If you put them in a field, they will run- they are likely to die from tripping. Put 2 horses in a fence- they will race. My aunt whos a vet owns 2 horses, and she confirms this. With a jockey they are under more control. However there is a negative aspect of racing- GAMBLING. THATS A HUGE ISSUE!!!! Horses love to run, and a race is a safer way of
