this is speech #8 in the toastmasters competent communication manual: visual aids. it's a 5-7 minute speech that i did with laryngitis, and i went over time by about 40 seconds due to lack of practice. i need to work on practicing my speeches before i give them--the last four or five speeches i've done have been completely unrehearsed. one of the pages probably should have been dropped, but oh well... that's why i'm in toastmasters, right? to learn how to better organize my speeches! it's good prep for the class i hope to teach in may. this speech is actually set up to be accompanied by a powerpoint presentation, but we don't have a projector so i used handouts. one of these days i'd like to see our club have a sound system and a projector so we could have the opportunity to practice with the electronics.
