My little family recently had to use our emergency food stores. It lasted for about one and a half months. Just listen, you'll get the scoop.

Sorry for my sniffles, I had a cold. And sorry it went a little too long.

  • @Redbirds1100 Well, it's something to watch as it seems our world is still going down the tubes. Not just America.

I hope its not true. I try to think that the worst is over.

  • I Don't go with cans so much..., 20pouds of rice, 20 pound of beans(white), red beans, lentils, mung beans(can be spouted into salads), whole weat pasta(keeps forever), with jars of spaghetti sauce, dried fruits and also a wide variety of nuts.Cereals can be bought whole if you have a hand mill(cheap enough)to make fresh flour(for pancakes and bread), peanut butters and jams(desserts), then,I could throw in some canned meats and fish, but not in large quantities.Make use of food banks, churches!

  • @Jai666666666 Yah, I'm just now learning how to soak and boil down pinto beans. Haha.

  • I totally understand what you have gone thru! My family and I were a middle class family getting by ,owned our home for 15 years and after a major injury to myself we ended up loosing everything ! Our home! Our car, our savings, and ended up having garage sales to get food to eat! It's funny how things can f

  • The same thing happened to my family back in 2001 and luckily I store food for Y2K and we used a lot of it and then my son's family used a lot after losing a job like we had. So I started my pantry again a few years back and I never feel I am finished. I do eat out of it all the time and found what we like the most is what I can myself. Tastes a hundred times better than commercially canned foods. So build up your pantry as you can and then triple it, like you said.
