Here in Brazil, cut tails or ears of any kind of dog without a medical reason is considered crime. And you can get 3 or 4 years of jail for it.
-
@scottybottybanana i you dont cut them there is a big chance of developing spine deformity
-
Weimar puppies!!! I wish my grayce was still that small...
-
Cute puppies but some arsehole cut off their tails

@13elementguy... oh, what a nice way to articulate - just shows at what level your mind is. i am a moron? why?
proven that a weimaraner in the states is mostly a family dog - which is absolutely ok if you work enough with it. here in germany most of the breeders will not give a weimaraner to a non-hunter. cutting tsils off is illegal here and no hunter says his dogs get hurt more....
open your hearts and your minds... cuting any parts off is NOT neccessary, its cruel, nothing else!
-
Awwwwww. I have one! Her name is Mollie. They're the cutest dogs ever!
-
@jojothetireboy - its not proven that undocked dogs get hurt more often! not proven!!!
its a narrow minded "tradition" - i could name a lot of hunting dog breeds with complete tails... just thinks about it!
and how many weimaraner in the us go hunting???? lol - it was a fashion thing centurys ago...
if it was fashion, would you amputate bodyparts of your child???
-
@mamita152208 Hunters often have their tails docked, because in heavy brush the longer tails can become cut-up. That is a situation that is painful for the dog, and often doesn't allow them to hunt until they are healed.
I've had two domestic Weims. One had a docked tail, the other didn't. It really makes no difference for a dog that won't be hunting/retrieving often, imo.

must say, in germany it is totally ilegal, which i think i right!
it does not make sense to cut any parts of a body off just to look amputated.
its not neccessary for any reason, so why????
also most breeders here won't sell a dog to a non-hunting person.
