@StingDrift Some people take that literary "to defend His Holy Word only". One should live life as a Christian, but real Christian which means that you love every man like it's your own blood. Love which is pure and unconditional. One should fast, pray, forgive and confess. That is the way how we should fight for His Holy Eternal World only. But some people interpret it in their own way, and make wars in the name of God. What is terrifying and disappointing.
@StingDrift When I think positive about that ideology, it's more referred to sport. We all cheer for our own country and national team, which is normal. In that way,it makes us all nationalists. No one will cheer for the opposite team right? In a way it is idolizing or favourising your own team. But it doesn't hurt anyone. When it comes to fundamentalism and political stuff in general, all kinds of extremism are present.
@StingDrift I survived myself two wars.I wish I had never seen those things. However I don't hate opposite sides, because I believe in God.I tried to talk with people from opposite sides and have a normal conversation, but I often felt rejected. The reason is that not all people believe in God or think reasonably.People rather choose to hate than admit own mistakes. That's not always connected with ideology but what you brought from home, that's the picture of your parents and how they raised you.
@StingDrift I understand your point of view. But in practise some things work different. I agree that we ought to worship God, but sometimes it's hard to be fooled by other people over and over again. When someone hit you, you step aside and tell nothing. He hits you again, you again say nothing. And when that repeats over and over again during many centuries, believe me in one moment you are going to literary explode. We are all human and no matter how much we believe in God, we make mistakes.
'' Nationalism doesn't necessary have to mean hate towards other nations.Nationalism is an ideology''
It does indeed when it comes to constitutional fundamentalism.Nationalism is a wrong ideology, patriotism makes it even worse.Never advocated in such ways by Jesus Christ, nor should Christians follow such roads. It is idolizing behavior, and war mongering.
@StingDrift I agree with most of the things you said except for the patriotism and nationalism.Nationalism doesn't necessary have to mean hate towards other nations.Nationalism is an ideology which could be interpreted in many ways. There is also a positive side of it.Many countries got rid of their dictators and one of the reasons they did it is because they love their own people and their own country.Militarism and chauvinism are actually for being worried about. Those two increase the hate.
if your socalled patriotism defends(quite obsessively so) the constitution, than you are actually opposers to God.The founding fathers were not exactly Christian after all.Further,God doesn't let Himself be overruled by manmade paperwork. You should rather be defenders of His Holy Word only.

We ought to worship God,not some peace of land.

"Patriotism is when love of your own people comes first; nationalism, when hate for people other than your own comes first."
Patriotism thus goes hand in hand with Nationalism and are an act of stupid worldly pride.
It fuels superiority complexes, and the tempt to destroy anything it can't assimilate to its typical ideals.
Jesus did NOT shed His precious Blood for that.
There is no 'greatest nation'.
Only One great God,Who gave His Word and His Life through Jesus Christ WORLDWIDE.

I think that patriotism can be dangerous. I wonder why nations exist.
