Vedres Csaba is a Hungarian composer, piano and organ player. In 1986 together with Péter Pejtsik (cello) and Gábor Egervári (flute), he founded the group After Crying. In my humble opinion After Crying are the finest symphonic progressive rock band of the 90s. In 1994 he left the band and started his own solo career. This tune is taken from Mesék, Levelek (Tales, Letters 1999), a fully instrumental piano album, a wonderful set of compositions as nice as all the other albums he composed from that work on. Csaba' style is really clean and elegant and sometimes listening to his songs you can notice his love for Keith Emerson skills too. I tried to play the piece with the only help of my ear.

  • Interesting song choice and nice playing. Bravo!

  • @brianedmunds thank you very much!

  • Search in Google for vedres tales midi

  • @briffid thanks for the suggestion. For the moment i am trying with the help of my ears only. 2 days ago I have started learning a new tale, one of the simplest ones. In 1 or 2 days I will complete it. I will listen to midi files if the tune is particularily difficult. Luckily the recording is very clear and it's possible to understand all the parts.

  • @HaroldDemura

That's cool, maybe you can ask him for those scores after the concert. ;)

Have a nice time at the gig.

  • @hyperboreal Townscream album is fantastic...I love it. I higly recommend his piano solo works... Currently he plays with a chamber ensemble called Kairosz.

  • @hyperboreal I must tell you an incredible story....yesterday I wrote to his official site webmaster , asking if there are any available scores of his music. I would like to play other songs by him but playing them by ear only is a hard effort. Ok, today I have received an email in Italian. He is in Rome now :-))) and I am going to watch his concert next saturday...Funny thing, I knew NOTHING in advance Saludos

  • @HaroldDemura

I know him from his work with After Crying and the Townscream album. I'll have to check more of his solo work, he's a very talented musician. Saludos!

  • @hyperboreal thank you Alex, as always! Have you ever heard his Rock Sonata? It's an incredible piece, saludos
