  • Sad to think that Lennon was shot just months later...

Never a hope for a Beatles reunion after that.

  • That's Paul McCartney. The real one and only Paul McCartney.

  • @comedycentral70s Thanks for that info- I guess they were pretty much in a state of limbo throughtout 1980 (no doubt due to McCartney II) and into 1981, which was a shame for this fine line-up.

  • @crapple009 Laurence Juber and drummer Steve Holley left in february 1981 tug of war became a solo album and 27 april 1981 denny laine left and wings disbanded

  • Typically people throw around statements about artists too loosely because it's the popular thing to do. With Paul, if you consider his diversity as a composer & instrumentalist, he really probably is the greatest composer & musician of all time!

  • Had no idea Wings were still active by the summer of 1980. Thought they had disbanded after Jan. 1980, post-Tokyo.

  • Liked Paul's comment 'can't reheat a soufflé'. The four of them reached their creative/musical peaks at the same time in their 20's. Which is a reason why the Beatles were so great.

Doubtful they would have reached such heights again. I mean what could John, George & Ringo have done to save Paul's 'Spies like Us' ?

  • On Dec 8th John was recording 'Walking on Thin Ice' with Yoko singing. One, maybe two more albums were in the pipeline. Probably with Yoko on them. John was also planning a world tour, Yoko would 'no' doubt share the stage. Fred Seaman also said John was planning a musical 'The Ballard of John & Yoko'.

So unfortunately Yoko would have been constantly in the public eye. Rather like Linda was with Paul.

  • @ADAM79929

I WISH she had given up,lol.

Unfortunately she CONTINUES to do limited touring and performing,

forever riding on John's coattails long after his tragic death.

  • Correction:this ISN'T Kevin Keegan that Paul is talking to here.

Rather, it is Arnie Wilson, who still works as a journalist

covering the celebrity and sport scenes, especially skiing.

  • I'm confused as to which song Paul refers to with his "bright eyes" reference.

The only hit song I'm aware of that used that line was "Total Eclipse Of The Heart"

which wasn't released until three years AFTER this interview.

Perhaps Paul is thinking of the song "Sad Eyes" by Robert John.
