A dance-beat in 16-beat mode (100 bpm, Aeolian scale, uses G.23 and G.22 gate arpeggiators).
For those who still don't know, if you press and hold Loop and Tap/BPM while turning on the power, it will say "dLy". Let go of the buttons and it starts up as usual, except now you can change the Loop Length up to 16. But you lose the ability to Fix and the beat count disappears from the display (there is still a tiny flashing decimal-point).
A particularly nice setting is L.15 on G.00. Play the bottom edge. If you move it plays according to the G.00 beat. But if you hold still there is no arpeggiation; it sustains a note.

But the Kaossilator Pro (3 lbs and about double the price) is REALLY something!
The Kaossilator 2, the upgrade of the handheld Kaossilator, is coming soon in 2012!
@camelchimes That would be an example of two-finger playing. L.07 has an 8-octave range. By sticking a finger in the middle and keeping it there, it then takes the average of two finger-positions. So, no matter where I move on the pad, even to the edge, the actual position it takes for the note is only halfway to the edge. The effective range is now 4 octaves and not 8, so that gives me better note-control.

@Dracopol elegant randomness...depending upon in the hands of whom and what loops we choose to share rather than chalk up to experience. The recording really takes off with the layer you add around 3:00.

@camelchimes This demo was shaky; it's always harder to do 16-beat loops. I can sometimes luck into compatible scale-and-key combinations but finding compatible gate arpeggiator patterns is more work. The retriggering was not the best this time. I was most "in the zone" for my fifth Kaossilator video. Must keep practicing, no easy cutting corners even with this amusing toy that seems to generate elegant randomness.

Your layering really keeps up my interest for your looping. I read your profile and saw that we are close in age. That would account for why I like what you did here in Aeolean. The sixties had lots of pop music in major keys, but then the seventies really piled it on in minor. I always "hated" disco, but I always loved to dance. I was so confused. I like your approach in contrast to mine, using the S bank later rather than at first. :) I haven't played with retriggering yet, cool!
