There are many versions of this Woody Guthrie song but I have always liked this live version by Ry Cooder and David Lindley. Their twin guitars drain every bitter drop of poignancy from those desperate times. Magical guitar work from the maestros.

I have loved Ry since I was in blue jeans in the 70's/ and David Lindley from Jackson Browne (Mountain Air '78) all the way to today...this is incredible music to me...I need more like it; I bow down to TheMighty Tubesh! More please...tbear111

I was there! I think Jerry Garcia Band was supposed to play but they had to cancel and Ry and David showed up. (If I remember correctly)
