Sixty-one percent of women who have children after enrolling in community college do not finish their education—a rate 65% higher than for those who don't have children. As part of the American Association of Community Colleges' Make It Personal: College Completion project, several colleges have been developing strategies to improve student success by addressing pregnancy planning, prevention and healthy relationships. Learn how faculty have incorporated the topic of preventing unplanned pregnancy into their courses, why it has been a good fit in the classroom, and how talking about it engages students and helps them complete college.
Faculty members featured in this video represent the following colleges: Chattahoochee Technical College (GA), Georgia Perimeter College, Hennepin Technical College (MN), Mesa Community College (AZ), and Montgomery College (MD).
Make It Personal: College Completion is funded by The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy and managed by AACC. Learn more about the project and download free course outlines at www.aacc.nche.edu/mipcc.
