Mountain View Counter-Recruitment

Groups and individuals from Santa Clara and San Mateo gathered in mountain View to oppose the Iraq Occupation and the manipulation used to snare youth.

Represented groups included The Raging Grannies, Los Altos Voices for Peace, and the Peninsula Peace and Justice Center. Both newspapers and television journalists interviewed participants.

The main speaker on recruitment was Gail Sredanovic. The woman from Los Altos Voices for Peace was Myra Orta.

There were demonstrators for the military. Most seemed like they would be friendly neighbors but one evidently shoved one of the Raging Grannies. One seemed to be against the Iraq Occupation but against counter-recruitment.

Later I wondered later if one of the pro-military demonstrators might have been a Republican Party operative, but this is speculation only.

Why can't people like them ever write their fuckin' Congressmen(-women) and address their bitchin', gripes, and complaints? It really isn't hard...you get an e-mail composition, pen-and-paper, phone, w/e. I apologize in advance if it takes so much of your limited cognitive abilities to do it!

As a veteran myself, it is both an insult to me and a waste of time on their part for them to do this sacrilegious crap.
