SM begins a wonderful performance with a blazing cover of "When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again" (the theme from "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" by Kubrick) and blasts off in an epic horn extravaganza that breaks down into "Everything Went Numb".

The footage is from the Roseland Ballroom gig (/w AAA,RBF,LTJ) in New York on 19.07.2007

[one of the best damn concerts i've ever been to :)]

  • I love that almost all live shows I find of SM are usually distorted at one point, which is kinda weird in a way, since SM can mean slender man, and many slender man ARG's use sound distortion. lol

  • Oh, you are totally right. Sorry for that screwup.

  • umm.. sorry but I believe that the song originated in Ireland as an anti-war song....not Scotland. It is generally dated to the early 19th century, when Irish troops served the British East India Company. The original refers to the soldiers from Athy in County Kildare..in Ireland.

  • i love that drum solo....and everything else!

  • Yes! I love when I find videos of concerts I was at! Thats awesome! That was an amazing concert

  • well somewhat...he's trying to say it's only that nah mean...like he's callin someone stupid cause they called it something else...but yah i agree they're all the same...didnt know bout the hymn though...but they weren't like sittin goin hey lets do the ant song...like if you think of the one tin soldier cover gimp did...3 songs from the bandits ep...and a bunch of other random shit by streetlight...they chose it with the anti-war song...or hymn in mind...

  • Well, it's all the same. ;-)

The tune is originally from a anti war hymn from Scotland called "Johnny I Hardly Knew Ye".

Also used in "When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again" AND "The Ants Go Marching One By One"

So bandkidd is right, in a sense. ;)

  • i retract my lyrics statement...
