  • Hi. My friend, I'm owner of the same Gantry Crane. The one in my own contains an electromagnet. Can you tell me please wath model is the one in your layout? The coal jawses is an special item or an special edition? Thanks a lot...

  • @AlseidesGaldiola , I bought the coal bucket second hand and their isn't any manufacturers name or mark on it, sorry I can't help you. Maybe someone else will know.

  • @AlseidesGaldiola : You are right, this is not a Maerklin Item, but it was produced by a German company called WIAD which doesn't exist anymore. However you can find them on eBay, but working ones fetch prices around 80 €

  • @hannub, Thanks for helping out with the identity of the manufacturer.

  • love the trucks and round house doors how did you do it?? wire were cant see it lol sweet jod on your trains

  • STEELHORSE1975, The trucks are Faller and the round house is a standard kit from Fleischmann.

  • Very impressive, but I have two concerns:

1 - running water and electricity are a dangerous mix.

2 - the chemicals used to make the smoke might be carcinogenic or otherwise dangerous.

  • Animation is the big attention getter on any model train layout. On my N gauge layout in a German motive of the 1960 years I have a cathedral located over a tapedeck with organ music, an oompah band in the market square playing tunes over a tapedeck under their feet, traffic lights, street lights and a fair with working carousels, swings and music.

  • @AlseidesGaldiola Happy New year and thanks for your reply too, your German is actually very good, it is a complicated language for sure. The German name is either Kohlengreifer or Baggerschaufel. Two of these are acutally on sale at eBay now but one is not in working order.

  • Thanks a lot for your information. Please, allow me to seay: Happy New Year for you. Thanks a lot for your kindness. Just one more question:Can you tell me please, the German name for the WAID's item you told me? Kohlereimer?

  • Thanks a lot for your reply. Very kind from yours. If you discover the band & model of the bucket, please, let me know. Thanks again.

  • Man,the smoke effect freom steam engine is great. Is it A.C.- digital? Cus know- with analog D.C. power- you can't make engine to stop, but smoke generator to keep working. I only don't like that Marklin tracks have those metal studs sticking out in the middle of every spike. Looks awkward. That reminds me of ridicilous-looking Lionel, that got 3 rails.

The roundhouse operation is awesome. I wish you had doors open slow. Right now they look like the doors of a starship!
