2003 Honda CR-V Aftermarket Stereo installation. CD player to OEM head unit has been broken for over a year. It was time to replace. I got myself a JVC KDR-600. Mostly becuase it added a USB port with compatibility made for iPod and works with iPhone.

  • i have this same car, upgraded the stereo using this vid, HOWEVER, i blew all 4 speakers and i don't know how to access them, can you make a vid showing how or a link with instructions?

  • @randomvideosn0where You may want to ask the folks at hondasuv d o t com or crvownersclub d o t com for advice. You could also look at my previous video on the drivers door actuator replacement on how to remove the door - the speakers are in the door. Good luck.

  • @mrboy2511: yup, my aftermarket unit has these little snaps on the edges of the plastic - they sort of 'snap' into place. I prefer screws too, that why other folks have suggested getting the accord single din unit as an adaptor. Search the hondasuv.com website for more info.

  • Very helpful. Your vid makes it look do easy! Im about to replace a 2-din for my 2002 model. Let me ask you a question please. I been hearing people talking something about going to dealer to get the radio code in order to make it work. But i didnt see you do it! And would 2002 model is just the same as your 2003 model?

  • @mrboy2511 I didn't need a radio code for my aftermarket jvc system. If you installed another Honda system I presume you would need a code.

  • hi, i installed xtron DVD in honda crv 2002, but the xtron DVD does not have radio illumination wire which i did not connect, but now i dont have light on dash when i turn the headlight on. please can assist where i should connect the illumination wire. thanks

  • @hazarabond I don't think I can help you. I am unfamiliar with what you have installed. It does not make sense to me that your dash lights are out after a stereo installation. Are you sure you don't have a blown fuse or an overloaded circuit? Or is the light switch worn out? Consider going to hondasuv.com and asking the forum members their opinion. Many folks there have much more electronics experience than I do. Good luck.

  • Hey, thanks for the video. Just installed a new stereo in my CR-V and your video was a big help!

  • @randomvideosn0where

For future reference.... Check to make sure your speakers can handle the power that they will be receiving.

Go to your local Auto Zone or Advance Auto Parts and find the PAYNE manual for your crv. The manual is based on a complete tear down and rebuild of the vehicle(s) it covers. VERY USEFUL.

  • Thanks man. You're the best. I was wondering if you could show us how to replace a window motor.

    :$

  • I hope in real life you're a teacher. Your presentation was so clear and organized. Thanks so much for taking this "public education" initiative.

  • @ajchien One more question, at 6:18 you said "without the screws placed in to the side" you placed the buzzel back on top. So you mean you left the unit hang loosely inside??? That does not sound very secured my friend!

  • Thanks SO much for your very clear and well-explained video! This has helped me greatly to do some updates on our 2002 CRV here in New Zealand!
