Skip Barber MX-5 Class at Laguna

This is lap 6 and 7 together. I avoid the braking exercise on these 2. The best lap time in most of these cars is about a 1:52. There was a kid in our class who actually races turning 1:51. Instuctors are able to turn 1:50 or so. The cars are lightly prepared. Only mod to the engine is exhaust. The suspension has been improved but is soft for my taste. You can hear the gravel rattling around in the car from the previous session when I spun the car off at the exit of 10 and missed the wall by, oooh, about 3 feet.

There is a photography service at the school. They provide the video for a fee. I didn't think to ask as to whether I could bring my own camera, but I would guess not. The class is definitely worth it, especially if Laguna is your home track. I had been driving turn 6 incorrectly for 6 years. Last track day, I dropped people in my underpowered street legal ride every lap through 6. Go for it!

is that stock exhaust/intake?

The exhaust has been upgraded with a cat back. Intake is stock. Aside from the cage, the cars are very lightly modified.

JayBeaux, the car you drove has aftermarket shocks, springs, lowered, big sway bars, full exhaust, not just cat back, and a cold air intake. Also, the castor/camber has been heavily changed.... nice video..
