  • Jason Robards - One of the greatest! And how in the world was Buddy Hackett able to guess it so quickly. Awesome!

  • Comparison contrast always helped make WML a great game show. Distinguished actor Jason Robards using that voice that sounds like a door in need of oil. Funny! Buddy Hackett's comedy persona obscured his other talents: he was, in fact, one of the smartest guys in showbiznia. In his WML appearances, he could deliver (clean) funny stuff brilliantly, but he solved games as well. In one episode (c 1962) when everyone wandered about hopelessly lost, he determined that the women grew mushrooms.

  • $4,00 for the Top Ticket price to see a broadway play!

  • Fabulous man,amazing actor.

  • what did buddy hackett say that was cut over?

  • "...or his wife". He was married to Lauren Bacall at the time.

  • Jason Robards won the Oscar for Supporting Actor two years in a row - 1976 (All the President's Men) and 1977 for Julia.

  • For me, Mr. Robards will always be Cheyenne.

  • Sexy actor.

  • Mr. Robards portrayal of ' Ben Bradlee', in "All the President's Men" was just magnificent.

  • I have to say, his was not a very well disguised voice. If Cerf were there, he would have nailed it, too.

  • O'Neill's play "Hughie" made its Broadway debut in 1954 with Jason Robards Jr starring. I looked that up because this WML episode does not have an air date....

If it had aired in 1954 instead of 1964 I would have wondered if that was Jason Robards Sr. They were remarkably alike in voice and face.

I saw a 30s movie once on TV once and couldn't figure out how Robards Jr made that movie when he was 15 yrs old! haha it was the father.
