  • I've heard the book inself is poor quality, as in it falls apart quickly. I have a pdf of it, & have enjoyed reading it. Hope to one day get to play one of its games. I also have the Necessary Evil game & look forward to running that at some point, great concept there.

Well done review by the way, one of your better.

  • I've never had any issues and it gets alot of use, I also have never seen one in bad condition.

  • I don't know savage worlds much, but doesn't the open ended roll thing mean that you are more likely to roll another die the lower the die you are using.

    For example:

Rolling D12 - you have a 1 in 12 chance of rolling another die.

Rolling D4 - you have a 1 in 4 chance of rolling another die.

I might try to work out the probability tree, but it almost feels like it is better to roll lower dice. Probably wrong, but an interesting thought (probably only to me, though)

  • A common rookie mistake.

yes your more likly to open end on lower dice but for bigger numbers your better off with bigger dice.

    getting a 12 on a D12 has a chance of 8.3%

    gettting a 12 on a D4 (open ended) has a chance of 1.5%

  • The german book is über- quality ;) most funniest and simplest system i know so far. i recomment it to everyone who just wants to have uncomplicated fast fun!

It´s absolutely worth every penny!!!!!!! I had a lot of fun with my friends!

  • D20 for most settings, is too crunchy (just look at Star Wars). Savage Worlds is far superior due to light rules and fast gameplay for most settings.

  • The new printing (3rd) doesn't have the binding problems anymore, and also comes with an extra index page in the back.

  • It wasn't Werewolf they saw at Gencon that inspired deadlands. It was the Wraith: The Oblivion book "Necropolis: Atlanta" who's cover featured an undead Confederate soldier, which served as the inspiration for the Harrowed, and the rest got built from there.

  • Might be nitpicking, but Deadlands came out 1996, Werewolf: The Wild West in 1997.

  • "...just murder someone horribly." Love it! Nice review, mate! SW is my fav system and I'm always happy to hear how much others are enjoying it.
