George Poitras, a community representative from Fort Chipewyan, Alberta, 280 km north of Fort McMurray, speaks at a press conference in Ottawa to draw attention to the House of Commons Environment Committee study of the impact of the tar sands on water resources - recorded by Straight Goods News on Parliament Hill on May 7, 2009.
The problems that stem from the Tar Sands Projects will only get worst because Government has closed thier eyes on First Nations Peoples in regards to Money. Government has created this problem and can only be fixed by government approval for better controls by local communities to locally make their own decisions regarding what they are willing to live with. Big Business will have to listen to Government to make these ammendments but this will only happen if the people as a whole make changes.
