You can craft yourself a Didgeridoo in 10 seconds or less if you happen to live near a Giant kelp forest! This location is on the beautiful central California coast.
My thanks and respect to the Australian Aboriginal peoples who dreamed up the Didgeridoo.

The time of year to do this is during the fall months when these kelp detach and wash onto shore and in some places found in piles.

To see collections and sellers of some of the finest authentic Didjeridu`s available and to learn more about the incredible culture of Australian Northern territory aboriginal people of the past and present, please visit the websites:

  • That was badass!!! Great play for some kelp. Now you have to find a way to dry it out without it loosing shape! Cheers!! ^.^

  • @cixiblue Good word my friend! I thought about that and maybe packing the inside of one with beach sand and compress the sand with a broomstick to hold its shape while it dries out. These are about 80 to 90% water and I`ve seen when they are completely dry the walls are only as thick as cereal box cardboard. If this method worked, one could then use fiberglass liquid resin on the inside/out to give it strength. Maybe I`ll try that sometime : D

  • you play well

think ill stick to my timber ones though.

    lol

    cheers

  • @Cre8iveSignWorks Thanks, keep up the creativity!

  • Wow that didn't sound half bad, was the kelp already dried out?

  • @Penaloza805 The kelp was fresh and crisp. When it dries out, it collapses and will not work.
