@MrBlah3573 Don't be a dumbass. In a matter of life or death situation where you are being attacked you will aim where ever you can. If you are locked up with someone that has a knife or is intent on killing you a shot under the chin or to the face is an excellent choice. When already in contact a body shot will not stop them before they stab you a few more times.

the virtue of good shot placement seems obvious, regardless of caliber. for example, it seems a shot in the left eye from a .380 or .45 will have pretty similar results.

that said, is there any real-world data on where self-defense shots usually go? if a gut or shoulder or leg shot is what usually happens, how does the power of the round matter then? seems like it could be really important or, since its in a non-lethal spot, totally negligible.

Excellent video. I agree with just about everything you say here, and I wish other firearms enthusiasts would take note. Just having a firearm and being proficient is 99 percent of the battle. However, I should say that self defense situation are unpredictable, as are the performance of any pistol round. People get shot with .22lr and instantly drop, people get peppered full of .45 and still stand and fight. All we can do is train, prepare, and do the best we can. That said, I carry the Sig P232

I used to have an old Mauser .380 and it was wickedly accurate. There were alot of Nazi's put underground by the underground using .380's, a highly underrated gun.

Hey Yankee, Love the video! I carry a Glock 26 and its a great reassurance to know you have 11rds of JHP 9mm on your hip. But lately I notice its getting a bit uncomfortable to carry for prolonged periods. Your video is making me consider swapping the G26 for a well made ppk for CCW.
