CCTV footage of a burglary in action

This took place a couple of years ago. I thought someone may appreciate seeing how quickly some well prepared thugs can get into a secured industrial unit.

The unit has an external steel gate, with heavy duty (enclosed) padlock. The weak spot was the brickwork, which gave way very quickly, leaving the locked wooden fire door exposed. The sledgehammer takes care of our wooden door in a few strokes.

Despite having an alarm wired to a monitoring station, the police still took 20 minutes to arrive. As you'll see from the video, these guys were in and out in less than 3 minutes.

So - if you think your unit is secured - think again. These are the sort of people you are up against.

Incidentally, they got away with 3 faulty Sanyo LCD TV sets, one defective Daewoo plasma TV (parts missing) and a recently repaired Hitachi plasma set (which was incredibly heavy, yet the big bloke still manages to carry out on his own.

Unbelievable, and the worst thing is to think that your company was supposedly doing everything right! Exterior gates, heavy duty locks, alarm system linked to the police and high-quality CCTV yet they STILL managed to get in and out!!

The quality of the footage surely allowed you to see the full plate of the '(05?) van that did it - did it come to anything?

@omardude39 Nope - license plate not legible on any of the cameras. The high angle of the camera location, and the lighting didn't help. It was probably a stolen van anyway.

No - totally genuine. Cost us a lot to repair the damage and improve the security system. It was an expensive lesson.

@omardude39 Locks don't really mean much. You should also be upset at the companies for making gates and locks that are so easily defeated.
