Lyrics:
When sometimes I trip and fall
When I just can't stand at all
When it's all too much to take
You are the peace in me
Days when darkness chills my soul
Moments when I lose control
Though I feel I'm beaten down
You are my victory
I'll take a step or maybe two
But when I walk, I walk in You
And though I falter and I fall
I know I'll rise again
And when my bones would almost break
When my muscles fade and ache
I know You did the same for me
I'll labour through this pain for You
When the guilt's too much to bear
When it feels like no-one's there
Then I lift my head and smile because
You are my saving grace
When I stand alone in fear
When I wonder why I'm here
I know You're my perfect reason
I'll finish off this race for You
Chords:
G Em C D for the entire song. The intro riff that pops up a few times is comprised of the notes G A C B. Easy peasy. For playing on piano, the left hand plays fifths of the chord root, whilst the right hand plays the melody/riff as appropriate in between the notes of the left hand. Listen and you'll hear what I mean.
About this song:
Whilst some of my work had touched upon Christian themes (Your Sunrise, Silverlined) before, I wanted more. Psalm 100 tells us to praise God with music, and of course we're to give Him our best always. When I first came up with the intro for For You, I really loved how beautiful it sounded, and was tempted to again write for Hayley. However, I was serious about honouring God with music, and so a worship song it became. Musically it's influenced by Relient K, with its piano-based introduction turning into crashing cymbals and synthesised guitar at the end. Lyrically, the song is as honest as they come, and there's not really much to explain by way of lyrics, except a veiled reference to Paul's words in Hebrews 12:1 to "let us run with patience the race that is set before us". Other than that, the meaning of this song can be summed up in two words: Jesus Christ.

@malupente Thank you! I'm so glad you like it, and thank you so much for subscribing! In terms of singing it, search YouTube for "for you becjones91". She did a lovely cover and used her voice to do the instrumentals. Maybe it'd help? Anyway, thanks again. :)
