That's a nice story..Glad that they took care of you.....I really miss the regional airlines like Allegheny, Piedmont and Ozark.
Airline deregulation was supposed to provide more choices...the exact opposite is occurring....soon we'll have just 4 airlines: United, American, Delta and Southwest.

Thanks for posting a great tribute to a sadly missed airline. I was one of the servicemen on furlough in the ad. We never had much extra money to get home on in "Nam days. But, if we could hitch a ride to an airport Allegheny flew out of they always got us home. I doubt they made a dime off us, we always flew stand-by; and couldn't afford movies or drinks. Didn't seem to matter to the crew-always a smile for us anyway.
Just wanted to say thanks after all these years...
