@rctruckmaster it doesnt take any time of college to become a pyrotechnician. i myself am a pyrotechnician. if you search online you will see courses and training for pyrotechnicians. it takes from one to 2 days to get your apprentice licence. from then on its all on the job training. best of luck

I'm always amazed to see these big show set ups. The time and money that goes into these then it's all over in a mater of minutes. I think I've had a good year if I get over 100 shells made by the 4th, then to see something like this.

no college...usually you have to apply for a federla ATF license, and most states require you to take a state approved saftey course and get a state license.

one day course

You do not have to go to college to be a pyrotechnition, you just have to go through proper training by other professionals, Its kind of like getting a licence to drive a car.

For Fireworks Productions of Arizona you need the one day class "Shooter's School" and show competence around the product. There are always well experienced crew members to keep an eye on the new people. Violating a common sense safety rule (gun safety class also) is about the only way to fail the class and get booted from the site. With enough experience you can move up. It's not about the money, especially with the Phoenix heat; it's about putting on a good show and celebrating America.
hi i would like to no how many years of college it takes to be a proytechnetion

Hello rctruckmaster,
I do not know. I have emailed the pyrotechs to ask them. I believe there is an apprentice program. I can get back to you with more info when I have it.
Thanks! - Vivian Clark, Mille Lacs Messenger
