how much did the set up cost for tank an filter? i was just considering on up grading my tank an i was curious on how much it would cost is all :P

Not really, about an hour every 2 weeks, doing a gravel syphon, 25% water change and changing the filter media

Wow, I could sit and watch a fish tank like this all day. Does it require much maintenance?

that tank looks bigger then 40 gallon maybe cuz so much goin on i dunno :P nice tank tho, are all of those plants real?

@bradcronkhite thanks - they are UK gallons not American gallons? Its 180 Litres does that make a difference? None of the plants are real, all plastic apart from the floating ones on the surface

Beautiful tank - I wouldn't have thought so many fish could live comfortably together, but they all look healthy and happy!

I grow Amazon Frogbit, a floating plant which multiplies rapidly and whose roots soak up nitrates from the water. I probably get away with being a little overstocked because of that, I do a thorough gravel syphon and 25-30% water change every 2-3 weeks.

What is your PH level? I though red tailed black sharks couldn't live in the same water parameters as plecs or neons?

Not sure what the pH is sorry, I rarely test my water these days, bad I know but I've had set up over 4 years so I just do 25% water change every 2-3 weeks with a deep gravel syphon.
I got the neons, rtb shark and plec from the same aquarium shop about 3 years ago, I'm down to 4 neons now I had 9 originally. They all seem to be OK whatever the paremeters are. The plec and rtb shark were only 2 inches long when I bought them.
