  • he's right and wrong. Long term forecasting is fatuous. Short term forecasting using statistical techniques and data mining can give you reasonable estimates. it also depends on WHAT you are forecasting.

    If you are trying to prognosticate china, the political spectrum plays a huge factor and is unpredictable
