Undefeated Brazilian fightter Alexandre 'Sangue' Ramos has been kicked out of his academy by owner Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua. While dinosaur media members can try to portray the sport of MMA in a negative light, the fact is that like boxing and wrestling, and so many other martial arts, the development of character is a central element of the practice.

And when a student fails to meet even the most minimal standards of reasonable behavior, that student may have to go.

In a telling moment about the culture of soccer violence in Brazil, the other rioter identified in the piece was the head of security for the sports club, whose job was to prevent rioting.

  • We have the same rule. Get in a street fight (which is different from defending yourself from an attack) and you're out. End of story.

  • Great stuff, this kind of bullshit should not be tolerated in MMA or in training for it.

  • Break the rules and shogun breaks your leg with a leg kick from hell

  • Wow, the kind of idiotic riots that happen in soccer... Are just rediculous. You would never see a riot like that at an NFL game. And it's a contact sport!

  • Good job shogun! Respect. Dont break the rules or shogun will break your ass

  • @irphil47 yeah and the only place he learned that was chute boxe and the streets of fucking brazil! he used to street fight, i dont see why he would expell a student that PAYS HIM to train there that was caught in a street fight. guess shogun doesnt need his $200 a month haha

  • @jack12345166 don't worry dude, silva is going to hurt him way more than the people at the stadium will ever be able to

  • @rompmyg it came from Pride man...the Japs had some crazy ass rules. A lot of fighters have a history of street fights, and you don't see them stomping ppl the way Shogun and Wand have. Stomping is an art all its own

  • dana wants to do the fight with silva and chael in a stadium and when chael whoops the shit out of silva the brazilians would get salty and riot seriously chael could get hurt

  • If you walked towards police with a tripod here in usa you would get several rounds of ammo (bullets) to the head and body.

  • @rompmyg

I thought it was just something he improvised.

God his face stomp is my favorite.
